| URAYASU-SHI, Chiba -- March 23, 2001 -- Oriental Land Co., Ltd. today announced the grand opening date for the newest Disney Park in Japan, Tokyo DisneySea Park. Disney's second Park in Japan and the first in the world themed to myths and legends of the sea will open to the public on September 4, 2001, next to Tokyo Disneyland Park on the shores of Tokyo Bay. The new Park promises Guests brand new Disney entertainment experiences. |
| On the same day, Tokyo Disney Resort will also celebrate the grand opening of the first hotel built inside a Disney Park in Japan, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. For the first time ever, Guests in Japan will be able to spend the night inside a Disney Park. "Mira Costa'' is Italian for "a view of the coast,'' and true to its name, Hotel MiraCosta will provide its Guests with stunning vistas of Tokyo Bay and Tokyo DisneySea Park. |
| Tokyo DisneySea Park is currently in the final stages of construction, which began in 1998. Upon opening, guests will enjoy seven unique "ports of call,'' each containing themed attractions, shops and restaurants designed to treat each and every Guest to a day of adventure, discovery, romance and fun. |
| The completions of Tokyo DisneySea Park and Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta mark a much- anticipated, major expansion of Tokyo Disney Resort, currently encompassing Tokyo Disneyland Park, Ikspiari, Disney Ambassador Hotel and the five Tokyo Disney Resort Official Hotels. The opening of Tokyo DisneySea Park and the continuing expansion of Tokyo Disney Resort mark the joint commitment of The Walt Disney Company and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. to the expansion of Disney dreams in Japan. |
| Tickets for Tokyo DisneySea can be reserved through major travel agencies beginning May 7, 2001 for group sales and on June 4, 2001 for individual sales. (Advanced tickets are scheduled to go on sale one month prior to the Grand Opening date. Advanced tickets can be purchased at either Tokyo Disney Resort Ticket Center in Hibiya, or at the Guest Relations Window at the main entrance to Tokyo Disneyland Park.) Tokyo Disney Resort Reservations and Information Center (045-683-3333) will begin accepting reservations for Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 8. |
| Prior to the grand opening of Tokyo DisneySea, special previews will be held for the media, citizens of Urayasu, distinguished guests, travel agents, sponsors and Oriental Land Company stockholders. |
